Well, it’s true that since I work in a home office I can most often be found in paint-spattered, ripped jeans, a tee shirt and slippers.   Some mornings I just get up, brush my teeth and put on sweats or clean pajamas, in fact.  But I still don’t see what’s so wrong about being fearful of a religion whose primary source of theology requires me to submit or die. Twitter

I usually don’t leap onto whatever the new social networking fad is, and didn’t really see the appeal of Twitter.  This post from Patterico moved me to join.  It makes more sense to me as a chat room than as “mini-blogging” which is how I’ve heard it described before.  And like Slublog, it was a bit of a shock to see that Karl Rove, of all people, is following me.  Evidently he follows everyone who follows him because unlike in Slu’s case, there’s simply no way Rove knows who I am or cares what I think.  :-)   Anyway, I’ll be reading a good deal more than posting, but if anyone wants to connect via Twitter, here I am.

Amazing Model of Herod's Temple

temple_courtofprayerThis is just amazing – a retired British farmer has spent 30 years building a model of Herod’s Temple. The detail is remarkable, and it’s all hand-made, even the little bricks.

‘It’s now recognised as the most authentic version of the temple in the world,’ he said. ‘I’ve had a lot of offers from people to buy it, but it’s not for sale.’
