Can anyone provide an explanation why, Why, WHY the font in oft-forwarded, never-checked-with-Snopes, superstitious-guilt-tripping ‘your babies will die a horrible death if you don’t forward this to ten people in ten seconds’ emails has to be so massive and colorful? Do people actually think it makes that tripe more convincing?

I’d gladly swap these candidates for quite a few current Congressmen. And that includes more than a few Republicans. A homeless gutter punk, tarot card reader – even drug addicts would probably spend more responsibly than the current crop of legislators.

Time to visit D.C. again?
I haven’t been to Washington D.C. in some time (even when we lived in the ‘burbs we seldom went to town to do touristy things, something I now regret deeply) but it sounds like the city’s improved a lot since the 90s. Maybe New Orleans can get Fenty after D.C. is done with him.

It’s ashame… I typically don’t forward an otherwise nice email when I am seemingly forced to. e.g. Jesus is not going to tell me, “depart from me, you didn’t forward that txt msg”
That really cracked me up for some reason – a mental image of Jesus standing at the pearly gates rejecting people for not theology-spamming their friends and family.
