I recently installed software called Rainlendar and I love, love, love it. A clock, calendar, weather, Christmas countdown, and in interfaces with my Outlook so my events and tasks are there too. There’s also a free version that doesn’t interface with Outlook; events and tasks are done within Rainlendar. Those components can be placed anywhere on the desktop that I want, so when I change wallpaper I can lay things out according to whatever the new look is. I’m really enjoying it. You should try it.
