I tend to put things in my Amazon cart and then leave them there for a while, gradually building up a large enough order to get free shipping. Current cart contents?

The problem with doing that is that the difference in shipping can usually be obtained just by getting the book used, anyway. For example, you would only lose about 75 cents by buying that book used. But I guess it would work well for non-book items. I didn’t know they had throwing knives on Amazon! Added to cart now.
Good point. I like used books for myself, but not for gifts. I know what you mean about the knives – I’ve always wanted to learn to do that, so when I saw how inexpensive they were, I figured my chance had come.
Kudos on the manners thing! If our society does not get a grip and learn how to be polite, once again, we have a very real problem!
