I have a client who’s very fond of the password, “password.” It drives me wild. Half of the people in that office can read each other’s mail. But evidently they think that’s a feature, not a bug. Lifehacker has some better ideas: What You Said: Password Lessons and Tips from Our Readers
I use bible verses for passwords. I rotate often – whatever I happen to be memorizing – and since they include a mix of letters, numbers, and punctuation, I’m all set no matter what the requirements are.
For example: john316, John316 or John3:16 meets most website criteria. I’m using that as an example since it’s such a well known verse, of course. It’s even better to not have a “regular” word like John. Considering that there are 66 books in the bible, and that they’re often abbreviated, you can figure out a variation on that. For example, Prov18:6.
Not a dictionary word, upper/lower case, numbers and punctuation, and easy to remember in addition to being a handy cautionary tale. It doesn’t get better than that.

I had never thought about going to the Bible for my passwords, but that is a great idea. Thanks!
