Border Insanity

It’s clear that President Bush is in complete accord with Mexican President Vicente Fox’s desire for an EU-like construct here in North America. Fox was very open about it in 2000.

So, yes, I’m talking about a community of North America, an integrated agreement of Canada and United States and Mexico in the long term, twenty, thirty, forty years from now. And this means that some of the steps we can take is, for instance, to agree that in five years we will make this convergence on economic variables, that maybe in ten years we can open up that border when we have reduced the gap on salaries and income and so on.

And with President Bush’s repeated actions – aided and abetted by Democrats eager for new party members and Republicans eager for cheap labor – to weaken the border and get as many illegals into the United States as possible, that plan is on track.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has been watching the border and calling in to report groups of illegal border crossers. Now the US Border Patrol is informing the Mexican government exactly where they are in order to “reassure the Mexican government that migrants’ rights are being observed.

MIGRANT’S RIGHTS?! That is insane. They have no rights here. This is an open betrayal of our law-abiding citizens, who are well within their Constitutional rights to do what they’re doing, to a foreign government that has openly stated that they are attacking our sovereignty. It puts our citizens in danger, because their lives have been threatened by coyotes who lead people across the border. President Bush all but invited illegals to New Orleans after Katrina, but this is far worse. Republicans are going to take a huge hit for this in November if they do not comply with the voter’s wishes on illegal immigration. I don’t want a Democrat majority, but I’m getting to the point that I think they can’t do much worse, and I am getting to the point that I want the Republicans to finally bear the consequences of their actions. If that means the Republicans lose the majority we fought so hard for – which they have done precious little with anyway – and suffer two years of investigations and impeachment hearings, then so be it.

This comment has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but I was wondering where you got your template. I love it, and I’m trying to revamp my blog to something similar…but my html is VERY limited and I’m having trouble with it.

Actually I made it. It was originally based on the Travelogue theme but I’ve made a lot of mods since then; changing all the graphics, the sidebars, and adding the column on the right.

Your best bet is to pick a theme you like, then look at the code to see what the names and dimensions of the graphic files are. Then it’s easy to swap out those graphics with others of the same size and same name, and presto! your theme is customized.

Also, WordPress has a GREAT support section, people are pretty good about answering questions there. And if there is anything I can do to assist, just let me know. :-)

Ah – I just noticed you are at blogspot. If you want to switch to wordpress, free hosting is available here, and wordpress makes it pretty convenient to import your blogspot content.

  4. Amanda says:

Well I did actually start a wordpress account today, but in the FAQ section it said that if you hosted with wordpress.com then you can’t change the html of your site.

  5. Laura says:

Yes, I see that – I wasn’t aware of it before because I do my own hosting. I’m not aware of any other place to get free hosting though. :-(

If we can send our troops over seas to protect other countrys borders and yet our own senate tells Us we just dont have the man power. In war time the border is the front lines-make no mistake about that. And we are at war-are we not ?

  8. Laura says:

Yes, I wish our Senate understood that. Unfortunately, I believe most of them have a completely different agenda than most Americans. I believe their goal is to set up an EU-like construct here, with the U.S. merging with Canada and Mexico. NAFTA and CAFTA are consistent with the preliminary work done to establish the EU, and encouraging migration from Mexico and points south to dilute our political opposition is also consistent with forwarding Vicente Fox’s goal.
