Pottermom’s got a post on an unhinged Obama supporter who flipped out over a bumper sticker:
McKain told the officer he and his wife were driving home when they noticed a female motorist looking closely at his truck. The couple drove home then pulled into their driveway.
“Mr. McKain said shortly later the same person (Ms. Gragg) pulled up to his residence (blocking his driveway behind his truck.) Mr. McKain said Ms. Gragg began to rant and rave about the sticker on the back of his truck,” the court document states.
McKain told police Gragg shouted numerous profanities at him and his wife.
“Mr. McKain said Ms. Gragg said she (would) get someone to take care of him later,” the report said.
Sure, the bumper sticker was crude and offensive. It wasn’t significantly different in content than another dozen or so I saw on the way to the store this evening, with the exception that it included the name “Obama.” As usual, anyone who opposes Obama is a raaaacist! But I set my timer to ten minutes and Googled “anti bush bumper sticker” and compiled this set. Mind you, that ten minutes included graphic editing time – there are hundreds, probably thousands, more anti-Bush bumper stickers to choose from.
As you can see, some are fairly mild, like the commentary on his policies toward the poor. But the terrorist and Nazi comparisons, and death wishes, are very popular subjects for stickers. (And one sticker informs the public that we won the war and lost the occupation. HAH! You can protest, spit on vets, wear tie dye and drown yourselves in patchouli, but this is not your parents Vietnam!) In any event, I haven’t seen an anti-Obama bumper sticker nearly as offensive as the Nazi and terrorist analogies. If it’s profanity and vulgarity you want, I seriously doubt any Obama stickers will sink to the junior-high crudities based on the President and Vice President’s names. I omitted those from the set. I’ll go slightly out on a very strong, thick limb and predict that you will never see an anti-Obama bumper sticker with a death wish on it.
