Bring on the death panels!

(Guestpost from  Drew)

With his dream of communist revolution in the medical industry flailing for life, Obama is now trying to convince the American voter that he does not actually support death panels. That is, he pretends he does actually not support letting grandma die, even though he said that he did. Quite the contrary,  he claims; Sarah Palin actually just made it up.

But since few people are likely to believe Obama’s latest tall tale, Obama should be delighted that I am now coming to his defense. That is,  I support the death panel part of his plan. Indeed, if we have socialist healthcare, death panels will become absolutely necessary for this country’s continued survival.

Simply put, we cannot afford to give out as much free medicine as every person demands. The government cannot afford it, and the country cannot afford it. As I discussed in another post a while back, socialized systems necessarily require these types of controls over individuals. Otherwise, everyone will run up costs as high as he desires. Since ever person ultimately will have to pay for these costs – in the form of higher taxes, or more likely, in the form of debt passed on to each person’s children – everyone will therefore suffer.

In the event of higher taxes, the country’s economy would spiral downward until America became the next Warsaw Pact. In the scenario where we continued building our socialist programs primarily on national debt, basically the same thing would occur – except it would probably take a little longer.

Given these obvious drawbacks to free medicine for everyone, we need the death panels. Consider the following:  If the government took over your grocery store and eliminated prices, what would happen? Obviously, the store would pretty quickly run out of food. What would be the obvious solution? Grocery Panels! (Or to maintain the parallel, we might perhaps call them ”Starvation Panels.”) The Grocery Panels would be annoying, of course. Crazy right-wing conservatives would certainly make fun of them. But they would be necessary.

Trying to give out free medicine without death panels would be like trying to help the poor by driving to a blighted part of town…and then leaving a bag full of hundred dollar bills on the sidewalk. First come, first served! Death panels are necessary. If prices do not control who gets what medicine, then death panels must. Otherwise, we will have chaos. So if we must have socialized medicine, let us happily celebrate these death panels! They will be our saviors if Obama creates his health care dream.

Anyway, sorry Grandma. It looks like you’re just gonna need to head on over to the Other Side. Don’t worry; you’ll be in a better place.
