I allow comments, even anonymous comments. However, you should be aware of several things:
On every website you visit, you leave information that reveals quite a lot about you, including your location and other info that could possibly identify you. I don’t intend to publish that information, but I do have it, as does every other webmaster of every other site you visit. Even if you leave a fake email address, you’re not really anonymous. The playing field is level on this one – it might take five minutes for you to find the same information and more about me. If everyone acts like grownups, these things should be no problem. So keep that in mind when you’re considering what to write. If you’re not comfortable with your boss or your grandmother reading it out loud in public, maybe you’d better reconsider what you’re writing.
Americans have the Constitutional right to free speech. You are free to go start your own blog and write anything you please. I’m under no obligation to host your free speech on my blog, and if I don’t like your comment for any reason whatsoever, I’m free to delete or edit it and if necessary ban you.
My comment/email policy is to not tolerate
- Threats
- Profanity
- Lewdness
- Wildly off topic comments
- Abuse
- Stupidity
- Fools
I hope that you will comment – the conversation is half the fun of a blog. But keep it clean and keep it civil.
Email sent to me may be published. Again, if it’s not something you’d be comfortable with your boss or your grandmother reading aloud in public, maybe you shouldn’t be writing it.

Anti-troll warning:
Comments consisting of insults will not just be deleted but marked as spam so if your intent is not to engage in a civil discussion, then don’t bother.
I don’t want an echo chamber, but neither am I interested in eternally redebating the same old tired leftist talking points or in trying to change anyone’s world view. Off-topic diatribes will be deleted, and so will some on-topic diatribes. I’m not interested in lists of complaints against Republicans any more than I am interested in lists of complaints against Democrats. Things like “Bush lied,” pretty much anything about “Zionism,” “Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism,” “We need to leave Iraq to go fight al Qaeda” or moral equivalence like “Judaism/Christianity is no different than Islam – just read the old testament” are examples of a complete waste of your time and mine, and will be deleted, moved to the moderated queue or edited. Since we can’t agree on even the basic facts, discussion is useless. The good news for you, if those are the types of conversations you’re interested in having, is that there are tens of thousands of other websites where those types of debates are welcomed. Go find them.
If you’re interested in debating the finer points of Christianity, I would love that. If you want to discuss what’s worse about the Republican party – their horrible overspending and earmarking, or their amnesty-based immigration policies, that kind of thing is great. How Christians ought to treat gay people. Should abortion be legal, especially in the case of rape or incest. Why Jack Murtha is worse than Nancy Pelosi, or who’s the biggest blowhard, O’Reilly or Rush… get the idea? I’m not anti-debate or anti-free speech, but in general people who believe that the media is conservative, that the war is for oil or for Halliburton, or that our troops routinely engage in torture, massacres, that our military sanctions such things or anything of that sort are wasting their time here.
I won’t waste my time trying to change your mind, and I won’t host your views on my site. Don’t bother posting them.
