Hey, remember all those people who confidently declared that New Orleans, the nation’s busiest port, and headquarters to the country’s second largest fishery as well as a hub of activity for the offshore drilling, refineries, and associated industries on which nation relies, should be abandoned? After all, some parts of the city are below sea level. Our federally-designed and built levees were poorly designed and then not even built to specs – which was then hushed up. Then we experienced the second really bad storm since Betsy in 1965. Everybody, pack up and move!
