Conservative Bloggers' Favorite Movies

I thought this was interesting because – being politically aligned with a group clearly doesn’t mean similar choices in entertainment.  I participated in John Hawkin’s survey of conservative bloggers’ favorite movies, and only two of mine (The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King) made the cut.  The rest were generally movies I enjoyed, but not really favorites.  What do you think – is the list a good reflection of your favorite movies?

Equilibrium never makes these lists even though it should probably be at the top.

      My picks were:

        Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
        12 Angry Men
        True Lies
        Independence Day
        The Fellowship of the Rings
        The Two Towers
        The Return of the King
        The Quiet Man
Oscar (a really funny comedy of manners starring, of all people, Sylvester Stallone. Go figure.)
        Adam’s Rib

Somehow I didn’t think to include anything by Mel Brooks or Monty Python – I’m not sure why, because I really love quite a few of those movies. Also: Hellfighters, with John Wayne. How to Marry a Millionaire & Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe.

What are your favorite movies? (And ECM, I just added Equilibrium to my Netflix queue, thanks!)

I am not sure that these rank top of “all time” but my favorite movies are “Stranger than Fiction” and “Finding Neverland. ” I do love the LOTR movies, but other than those, I am ashamed to admit that I havent seen many of the movies on your list. I will have to go hunt some of those down.
