Fast and Furious Finally Goes Mainstream

The mainstream media is finally, with Congress’ contempt vote of Eric Holder, forced to cover the Fast and Furious story. People who rely on the internet to get their news have known of this story for well over a year.  If you ever needed an example of media bias, the fact that Obama’s Attorney General has a scandal with a body count numbering in the hundreds, and mainstream media coverage has been nearly nonexistent; brief, vague mentions and a whole lot of “oh, look at that shiny thing over there!” non-coverage.

The fact that for nearly two years the top law enforcement official in the nation has looked at Congress with a straight face and claimed he does not know who authorized this program is insane.

The body count at this point is at or near 300.  Someone is accountable, and it’s past time we find out who.  Obama cannot be allowed to cover this up with his assertion of executive privilege.  If the Republicans in Congress don’t press this issue, then it’s past time for the GOP to die out and be replaced by a party with a spine.

  1. I think hundreds might be badly understated (I hope not), but the number dead in Mexico’s drug war was recently revised from ~40k to upwards of ~150k since ~2005 and, with an upward revision like that, the odds are that a sizable number of them are from F&F guns since they were dumped into the absolute worst areas of Mexico.

  2. I agree with understated. This is going to be a major fact in his history as President. Nixon’s Watergate doesn’t even come close to this.
