I was on Laura Ingraham talking about a project I was involved in – The Gitmo Cookbook. That was the result of four people getting frustrated and feeling that we had to take a stand. This Galt movement is more like the recent phenomenon here in Louisiana when our legislature tried to give themselves a massive pay raise – see the archives for Legewatch. This “going Galt” movement is a heck of a lot more widespread and I think it’s got legs. The going Galt twitter feed is worth following – loaded with great links.
Anyway, I’m assembling a few talking points since I’ll be nervous terrified out of my mind and likely to stay something stupid if I don’t have some kind of anchor. Actually, I’m about as likely to say something stupid with them, but that’s a post for another day.
You sounded fine, totally made your point and explained yourself well, Mike filled in really well. I seriously want to get in on this, me and my hubby both are working in low paying jobs, but we are in a position to live without paying a large sum of amenities, as we live with his folks and they refuse any maximum contribution. That being the case, I think if the opportunity comes to lower our intake, and thus reduce the government’s take, I’m all for it. I have to give thanks to God who lead us to this position, I would never have imagined it, except that now I’m living in it. I pray all believers get the same security and opportunity that we have received. God Bless! Keep posting!
Wow, Laura, you are very brave! God protect you and you’re family as you “go Galt” and may He bless your wealth. This is a great idea (I wish I was in the bracket to do this–nowhere near, just a little troll trying to find a new job). And by the way, you also sounded great…you have a great speaking voice! (Now I can kinda hear your voice in my head as I read your posts and not pretend it’s the voice of Maude or something, lol).
