The wheels are starting to come off the global warming bus, although President Obama is apparently still going to Copenhagen to announce his plans to further destroy our economy.
The real question is how soon will they start screeching about the terrifying, world-destroying effects of global cooling? In the last century we have cycled from global cooling hype to global warming 4 times – the upcoming switch to a cooling scare will be the 5th. I started keeping an eye out for articles a few years ago and started this category to track them. As this amusing video shows, there has actually been a decline in temperature, in defiance of all the models. As I was growing up in the 70s, I recall adults telling me to enjoy my summers, because when I was grown, it would be too cold to run around in shorts. I remember hearing adults discuss whether they ought to build greenhouses for backyard gardens, because of the upcoming food shortages caused by global cooling. Good times.
