Holder wants to compromise!

Shorter Eric Holder: If you’re nice to me I’ll give you some of the documents I’m legally obliged to turn over.

It’s really breathtaking how the nation’s top law enforcement officer clearly believes that laws are for the little people.

Holder maintains that his office has cooperated with Congress. Any documents that were withheld were kept back because the Justice Department itself is investigating Fast and Furious, he said. But on Tuesday Holder opened the door to a compromise, telling Senate Republicans he needs only a “willing partner” to strike a deal.

“I want to make it very clear that I am offering to sit down, by myself, with the speaker, the chairman, with you, whoever, to try to work our way through this in an attempt to avoid a constitutional crisis and come up with ways, creative ways perhaps, in which we can make this material available,” Holder told the Senate committee.

Congress has been requesting, then demanding, the documents since last October.  Holder has not argued that he’s not obliged to comply with a Congressional subpoena. He’s just not doing. Meanwhile, we have two dead U.S. law enforcement agents and literally hundreds of dead Mexican citizens who were killed by guns that the U.S. government caused to be sold to the drug cartels.

Imagine, for a moment, if you simply ignored the request for documents in, say, an IRS audit because you were doing your own investigation as to how much tax you owe. Think there would be consequences for that?

This administration is lawless. From Obama’s illegal recess appointments, to ordering religious groups to violate their conscience, to funding a terror supporting Palestinian group in direct contravention of a law restricting such funding, it appears they believe they can do whatever they want.
