How are you my boss?

This is mildly amusing, and it brought back my frustration with being an employee. I once worked for a major ISP and had to help train my supervisor. And many times at various jobs I’ve had suggestions shot down because “we just don’t do it that way.” Now, if anyone had said, “No, that’s a bad idea because…” I would have been happy to accept it. Criticism, delivered in an evenhanded way, is beneficial. But the “No, because I said so,” rationale is the reason why I struck out on my own, and so far it’s worked out really well. That rebellious nature is something that has been a real hindrance spiritually, because Christianity is not a democracy. On the upside, once I’m on board with an idea, I’m fully committed to it. :-)
