Good news from Arizona – Sheriff Arpaio is in the clear and can continue to arrest illegals for conspiracy to commit human smuggling. Hey, they got Capone on tax evasion, right? Arpaio is another great example of true American ingenuity. And the best part is that these illegals are now felons, which certainly lessens their chances of receiving amnesty later.
After the court’s opinion was released, Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas commented, “I guess I would view the scoreboard as Arizona taxpayers – 1, Mexican Government – nothing. It is an important and historic day in fighting against illegal immigration.” Sheriff Arpaio added, “Let them appeal, we’re still going to lock them up.”
Defense attorneys and the organization Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law intend to appeal the decision, claiming that it will cost taxpayers additional money to defend the county from lawsuits. Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas responded that protecting public safety is not a decision that should be determined based on whether it costs money, and is prepared to defend the law all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Recently, the nationwide chain began posting signs in its stores alerting customers and potential employees, “We follow the law! This company hires lawful workers only.”
bRight & Early comments on the illegals swarming New Orleans since Katrina. It’s a real problem, although few people realize it yet. I recently had to take my husband to the emergency room. The waiting area was packed with Latinos, and the wait was projected at 18-24 hours, even though we were referred by his doctor and had pre-admit papers in hand. bRight & Early also has a post titled Stand Up For What’s Right, about Joseph Vento, a South Philadelphia restaurant owner who has posted a sign: “This is AMERICA: WHEN ORDERING ‘PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH.’”
