Typical of the Maverick, who is not now and never was a conservative. His first instinct is the leftist one: an emotional call to action for “protection” from some very distasteful free speech. I’m the last person to defend Letterman; I detest the man. But he had every right to speak his disgusting piece. And the rest of us have every right to shun him (and his advertisers) for it. That’s the only kind of “protection” needed here.
