Elections have consequences. And one consequence is that the next stop in the America’s Sorry For Winning Tour is Dresden, which was a legitimate, valuable, military target.
But he will be aware of the sensibilities of his German hosts before the D-Day commemoration and by traveling to Dresden — a city destroyed by ferocious Allied bombing in February 1945 — Mr Obama will also acknowledge how Germany suffered during the Second World War.
Forget acknowledging it. We should CELEBRATE it. Yes, Germany, we bombed the crap out of you and killed a whole bunch of people! My grandfather was over there pitching in toward that effort, and I’m PROUD he did it. Moreover, while he was over there, my grandmother worked at a POW camp in Washington State where Germans were held until the war was won. And I’m glad she did it, and I’m glad we held them prisoner, and I’m glad we killed a bunch of other Germans because that’s what it took to win the war.
Because winning the war meant making these smiling, happy people:
stop doing this:
What Obama needs to say is, “Don’t start nothing, won’t be nothing.”
More of this unbelievable freak show over at JammieWearingFool.

As a Brit i am sensitive to German’s feelings over the war, and recognise their civilians suffered as much as anyone’s. However, apologies are not necessary in my opinion. The actions were clearly necessary in order to achieve the results. When Japan refuses still to acknowledge their atrocities in China, you wonder why Obama has to say sorry for America’s role in the allied attacks. Seems odd!

I think that VDH covered the phenomenon well when he described Obama as a philosopher-king and his employment of the “noble lie.” Follow that up with Krauthammer’s false equivalencies article… I think they do a pretty good job of summing up. As to the German’s feelings about the war and how their civilians suffered, I agree apologies are not necessary. In American slang (and you should read this in Will Smith’s voice), “Don’t start nothing, won’t BE nothing.”
Ok! Fine you’re glad. Now please shut up and think a little about you being a german and your contry doing those things, even though you don’t want them to happen, suddenly a bomb comes over you and you survive, with several injures, your family dies. It was necessary to do that to stop the war, yes, but at least feel shame for those people who suffered because of that, either jews, americans, germans, EVRYONE!!! Please.
we did not drop our A bombs on Germany we droped them on Japan get the facts starit
Coty, who said A bombs? But we did bomb the crap out of Germany with conventional bombs (and rightfully so.)
I think Laura’s point is valid (if a bit cheeky); we do NOT have to apologize for bombing (yes, bombing) Germany. They got what they deserved for their (yes, THEIR) atrocious deeds. Where there innocent casualties? Sadly, yes. And I’m sure that there were many german people who opposed what their government was doing, and they’re not to blame–such are the terrible costs of war. This war was provoked by these innocents’ leadership…their blood is on THEIR hands. As Edmund Burke once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” America (and other allied nations) recognized that if they were to consider themselves decent, good people they could not just ignore the acts of Hitler and his crew. I’m sure Laura’s assertions were not meant to imply that she was ‘glad’ innocent people died–in fact, that’s not what she said at all. She said she was ‘proud’ of her grandfather’s role in the just war. She said she was her grandmother was part of the effort that captured and prevented wicked individuals from spreading their folly. She was glad the germans (by which I’m sure she did not mean the innocent ones) died for the crimes they committed because she rejoices in justice which is a godly attribute (read Psalms at all lately? David surely enjoyed cursing his enemies!). NOW, as a Christian, is there a higher road she may have taken? Sure. We don’t have to be gleeful about the destruction of our enemies to the point of dancing on their graves. But that wasn’t the context or the intent of the entry; it’s rather obvious. Just my two cents.
that is so stupied they dont have nothing eless to do in there life but mess with people. why do they do stuff like that@@@@@
If only Hitler’s mom had an abortion…
this is very sad. i feel rerally bad for them
im only 13
germany sucks
there disgusting
I think it’s fair to say that Germany sucked, past tense. It’s pretty safe to be a Jew in Berlin these days – in fact, it may be safer to be a Jew in Berlin than one in Paris, especially in the Muslim no-go zones there where even police are afraid to go.
