On The Bright Side, Church Mission Trips Will Be More Convenient Than Ever

The right side of the blogosphere is erupting over the amnesty bill which will apparently be voted on without having been fully written, much less read. Ace suggests we leave the Republican party. Well, what’s to like? It’s got less fence, will cost more money, will further balkanize the country, and will basically hand the country over to the Democrats socialists for decades to come.

Here are some charts detailing the results of these decisions. “This is not conjecture, this is what will be:”

The Texican Tattler tries to get comfortable, since this seems inevitable.

The thing is this – the ruling elite has been moving in this direction for decades. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are absolutely determined that we shall effectively if not legally merge with Mexico. Allahpundit may think the idea of a North American Union is ridiculous, but that is effectively where we’re going with this. Brzezinski promoted it over 30 years ago in Between Two Ages – progressive regionalization as a precursor to global government. The European Union began with trade agreements, and the recent failure to ratify the European Constitution (remember the promises that the EU was a trade organization only, and would never become political or infringe on member nation sovereignty?) has not even slowed the process down. As it is, fully 10% of Mexico’s population already lives in the United States, and American taxpayers subsidize Mexico’s failed socialist policies in the form of remittances which are more important to Mexico’s economy than their oil industry. This will be an easy merger to make after further cultural assimilation.

This will certainly give Fred! a big push. (Run, Fred, run!) And on the bright side, church missions trips will be more convenient than ever – no need to visit a third world country for a mission trip; if we just wait a while, we’ll be living in one. Because this isn’t really about immigration, legal or otherwise. It’s about the re-colonization of America.

Immigrants leave behind their native culture and society to join another. They might bring pieces of it, but their main motivation is to be a part of that society, perhaps improve it a bit with parts of their own, but the mainly intend to assimilate. They see something better for them, and want to be a part of it.

Colonists, though, intend to extend their homeland. They feel an obligation (”white man’s burden”) to bring the benefits of “civilization” to a new land. They come bearing all the baggage from home that immigrants leave behind, determined to recreate the best parts of home. And if there happen to be people already there, why then they must be made to share the blessings of liberty.

[…]Nowadays, in America, we are being colonized again. We have groups coming in and establishing their own little ghettos and havens, where their own language, customs, and beliefs reign supreme. In one town in southern Texas, the local government passed an ordinanace proclaiming Spanish as their official language.

A quote from an old immigration post of mine from a Mexican illegal alien who left California and moved to Kentucky:

“We’re in a state where there’s nothing but Americans. The police control the streets. It’s clean, no gangs. California now resembles Mexico — everyone thinks like in Mexico. California’s broken.”

There is no reason for American Christians to support this legislation, and plenty of reasons not to do so, including the fact that it’s going to seriously and adversely impact the ability of Americans to give as generously as we do to countries less fortunate and less well run as our own. (Watch the video, if you haven’t already, to understand why.) But I’ll leave you with just one other reason:

as C.S. Lewis contends in “Why I Am Not A Pacifist,” is “the suppression of a higher religion by a lower, or even a higher secular culture by a lower, a much greater evil.” ? Although he was referring to war as being preferable to some alternatives, I think the concept of one culture taking over another can still apply here. Certainly this is a bloodless takeover of land, and with all due respect to Mexican heritage, the current culture in Mexico is obviously lacking or its citizens would stay and fight for it. And the current culture in California and the border states is now also lacking, or illegal aliens wouldn’t be moving inland to escape it.

Nice post. If this bill doesn’t get passed (and I don’t want it to pass), where does that leave us? Right where we are. The funny (if anything about this can be funny) is that even the illegals don’t like this bill. They are saying it requires too much from them.

Pay $5,000? Return home? What? You want us to DO something? You should just make us citizens and be done with it.

  6. David says:

Hmmm, my comment on “The Human Face of Illegal Immigration” is even more appropriate here.

We must be clear: the subsidizing of Mexico’s economy and rico-dictated social policy (something that we frogs in the kettle are becoming accustomed to here as well, it seems) you refer to is but a portion of the issue concerning U.S.-Mexico rlations. The Mexican government is actively working to aid invaders from its country in “recolonizing” this country. Actively. And Felipe Calderon’s lapdog, President Fifi Bush, is actively giving aid and comfort to a nation that is engaged in an ongoing government-sponsored invasion of the U.S.

But if his acts prosper, none dare call it treason.
