Pregnant women gain weight – duh!

I don’t even know who this Padma person is, so thoroughly have I disconnected from pop culture. However, this popped up in my RSS reader: Tabloids are silly to harp on pregnant celebrities' weight gains; a defense for women who put on weight while pregnant. Good grief. Of course you gain weight; baby + water + yes, a certain amount of fat. You have to be a special sort of jackass to be surprised or dismayed by this.
