One good thing about this – if you have to have a major flood, it’s nice if the water goes away immediately instead of keeping your house flooded to the rafters soaking it in for a week. (And of course, this is a natural flood, not one due to bureaucracy and incompetent engineering.) Recovery and cleanup has already begun -
Governor requests expedited ‘major disaster’ declaration
As much as 11 inches of rain swamped the state Saturday, flooding homes, threatening dams and closing several roads and highways.
… He says the rains created a “radical deluge of water” where people went from feeling secure in their homes to being waist-deep in water within 15 to 20 minutes.
