Put Down The Doobie

I’ve had this song in my head since I read this comment about Ronulans related to this post:

It’s sad, really, as I’m sure many of them might have had futures as marginally productive laborers, if they ever managed to put down the doobies and move out of their parents’ basements.

You gotta put down the doobie… put down the doobie! Put down the doobie, yeah you’ve gotta leave the pot alone!

The truth is that I don’t have a too much of a problem with RP supporters, other than their, um, exuberance. The way that if you say the name (like “Voldemort”) they suddenly apparate in from all over and start defending their Master. And the fact that they blame America for terrorism. And are appeasing, naive, isolationists. And that so MANY of them are conspiracy loons. And that they are so deluded that they really thought he had a chance – based in large part, apparently, on those internet polls he did so well in. That they themselves rigged. And that they gave him a pass on what was written in his newsletter, which was vile. His association with Alex Jones, neo-Nazis, anti-Semites and holocaust deniers. And their views on the war, which are impervious to facts like a) Saddam really did support terrorism and b) had a nuclear program that the NY Times jumped all over the Bush administration for revealing and so on. And that he openly flirts with Trooferism to rake in millions. I don’t know which is worse; whether he believes it or is cynically using those sad, insane people. In short, they combine the very worst aspects of both the Democrats and the Republicans, and they get on my last nerve. So I guess I do have a problem with them, come to think of it.
