But...
I’d actually go a bit further than that and state it’s less a loss of reason and more a loss of morality. We still have plenty of reason, it’s just subservient to a nihilist worldview. The trick is getting ‘old school’ morality back up to speed, even though it’s lacking tires, an engine, and the will to repair it.
