Remember that model they photoshopped into emaciation? Fired… for being too fat. 5’10″, 120 pounds – probably a size 0 or 1, at worst. I always thought anorexia was an individual, psychological illness but I’m rethinking that now. Perhaps it’s in the water over there? How else to explain the groupthink?
And, AGAIN – Marilyn Monroe, pretty much universally agreed upon as a tremendously sexy woman, wore what in today’s sizes would be a healthy size 8 or 10. The disservice these asshats do young girls with this insane quest for a “pretty” yet Auschwitz-survivor appearance is tremendous. They should be run out of business for it.
I’ll say it again: who are the (non-homosexual fashion designer) males that find this look attractive, by and large? (I am not stating that nobody likes it, but I am asserting that it is a FACT that the vast majority of males prefer a woman with some meat on her bones.)
I’d also add: if young girls (foolishly) believe this is what equates to sexy these days, why aren’t their parents disabusing them of this notion from toddlerhood forward? I understand that the media is saturated with this stuff, but if the people that matter most in young womens’ lives were actually taking a stand and stating how ridiculous this sort of thing is, there’s every chance it would turn around in short order.
