RSS Bankruptcy

It’s time for a news break. That is to say, a break from the news. I have hundreds of feeds in my RSS reader, about evenly divided between blogs and news. In addition to that, I frequently keep the news on my office TV while I work, or play talk radio.

I’m too much of a news junkie. I’m not sure it rises to the level of “addict” but today will be a good day to find out. I’ve just declared RSS bankruptcy and marked everything in my RSS reader as read, and I’m sticking to something neutral as my background noise.

It’s not like the intake of all this information changes anything – after a certain point, it’s all repetition. Can I do it? We’ll see. If I do, will I be in a better mood at the end of the day? Almost certainly. I’m looking forward to finding out.
