I’m still piddling away at writing this mystery during National Novel Writing Month. I’ve got it pretty well plotted out and started writing, but personal issues brought the process to a screeching halt. The widget has sat in the sidebar for days, stuck at not quite four thousand words. My heroine was stuck on the front steps for two days, with the body inside starting to stink up the place. Disgraceful. She was relieved when the police and coroner finally arrived. I haven’t given up entirely. One of the nicer things about writing is it’s a world where I control every detail, and that’s quite appealing right now.
I’ve written two other novels which I haven’t even attempted to get published. What I’m working on now is the same book I tried to write for NaNoWriMo in 2006 and had to abandon because of health issues. I skipped 2007 entirely. 2008 is my year. I’m determined to get it done. And I’m going to submit this one and see how it goes.
I should be at 15,000 words by the end of today in order to be on track for the rest of the month, so I’ve got 11k to make up; definitely not insurmountable. And if it comes down to it, I can always use Write or Die. (via) Even without electric shock mode, it looks pretty intimidating.

Wow, God Bless you! I’m at 12,000 word right now of my fantastically cheesy take on Tolkien. It’s been really alot of fun just to set my goals and try to keep them. I agree, 2008 is my year! I started in 2006 but died soon after the start. I skipped 2007 entirely, but I’m with you! After having my characters wander around endlessly through a desert (the poor things) God has finally shown me how to get them to stage 2, oh the bliss. Well, here’s to a glorious finish. I love your blog, btw, I found it when I started doing research on Obama and man you sure have helped me to understand some things! Peace.
