I subscribe to LifeHacker so I never miss a tip like this.
The Tasty Planner website is no ordinary cooking website. It has recipes, of course, and you can register and share your own recipes. But what really makes this site special is the fact that you can drag recipes to your calendar and plan your cooking for the week, so that you don’t find yourself swinging on the refrigerator door at 6pm, wondering “What’s for dinner?” We waste more money than I’d care to admit on fast food that we don’t even especially enjoy due to this lack of planning.
Once you’ve planned out your meals for the week, Tasty Planner generates a shopping list. While I’ve seen similar functionality on other websites, Tasty Planner’s grocery list can be edited so you can put group things by store section or delete items you already own.
This is a life hack I will certainly use. It’s going to be well worth my time to add the recipes my family uses every month just to be able to plan out the cooking and generate the shopping list. Take the tour and register for the site. My first recipe is Shrimp and Corn Chowder – a Cajun variation on the Yankee standard corn chowder and a family favorite. Enjoy!
