The last couple of days have been… interesting. To give you some idea, when we met with friends to pray about a particular situation that’s been going on for some time, while several other people had these really eloquent, theology-drenched prayers, I was reduced to this: Lord, I don’t know what you’re doing, but I know that you are good, and I trust you. I believe, help my unbelief!
And he is.
I’m learning to be grateful for the times of testing in my life. When I look back (ah, joyful hindsight! And the sooner this is all in the rearview mirror the happier I’ll be…) at other really challenging times in my life I can see how God moved and arranged those situations from my ultimate good. Not necessarily “good” in the worldly, Hallmark-movie-happy-ending sense, but good nevertheless. These are the times when he changes me.
And the thing is… just as when you do a sound check in preparation to use that microphone, these tests are preparatory to God using me for his glory. And that is good.

Oh, but Laura, that is absolutely the best sort of prayer! When we are weak, he is strong! (2 Cor. 12:10).

I don’t know all the details and I don’t need to, but you are still in my prayers and if there is anything I can do … feel free to let me know.
And, I agree with Henry. That is the best kind of prayer.

Remember the tax collector in the Bible that said “‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner’”. That was all that he needed to say for God to understand him. Those are the ones that come from the heart.
Thanks, you guys. I really appreciate your encouragement and prayers, it means a lot to me.
