As a palate cleanser from this, Mike Pence refused to endorse Scozzafava and as lagniappe, defended conservative media.
“So to my friends in the so-called mainstream media, I say, conservative talk show hosts may not speak for everybody but they speak for more Americans than you do.“
I’m not particularly a fan of Glenn Beck – histrionics bore me. I don’t particularly like Bill O’Reilly – like President Obama he has a nasty tendency to use straw men to make himself seem centrist on some issues. And Sean Hannity, with that insulting “conservative underground” schtick and annoying faux-Christian theme song, tends to get on my last nerve. However. What we could use a lot less of is our “elite” “betters” like David Frum Brooks [Eh, Brooks, Frum, whatever... - ed.] and his pearl-clutching punditry cohorts. They voted for Obama and get hysterical at every questionable comment a conservative pundit makes. Yet they have no energy to fisk the outright lies that spew from the mouths of our President and the Congressional Democratic leadership daily. When liberals finally tell the truth the moderates keep their eyes on the primary goal – defeating conservatives. In contrast, Glenn Beck – who is not a journalist – has performed more investigative journalism in the six months than the dinosaur media has since the eternal campaign started in 2007. O’Reilly will at least challenge liberals from time to time. Hannity, for all the hokey schtick, often has a unique angle you won’t hear anywhere else. Levin’s obnoxious – but brilliant – and he takes the fight to the opposition. I could criticize them all – yes, even Limbaugh – for one thing or another but the truth is, Pence is spot-on. They DO speak for me far more than they don’t.

I could criticize them all … for one thing or another
You can, and will– that, I think, is the big difference between right and left at the moment.
I can’t think of ANYONE– including/especially my husband– with whom I agree entirely, but I can work with anyone who will work with me towards a shared goal.
That was a powerful climax! I wonder if anyone who counts, you know, the MSM, heard it?
