The House approved a 125% raise, and now it’s going back to the Senate which demanded triple. (Previous post on this here.) Governor Jindal still says he won’t veto it for fear they block legislation he wants passed in the future. (Coward! We gave him a line-item veto, and if they think they can blackmail him, then now is the time to dust it off and use it on their pork! Come to think of it, why is he not doing that anyway? That’s WHY we gave it to him!)

How sad that he won’t use his line item veto. I had hope for so much more from Bobby but he is proving quickly to be a failure, or as you put it, a coward. I didn’t expect it so fast. I had hoped you would have a couple of good years before the “old school methods” set in.
The Fleecing of Louisiana and Its’ Citizens
As many of you have heard, our esteemed Legislators, including Senator Rob Marioneaux decided to give themselves a 200% increase in pay this past week. This move by our elected officials was about as self serving as any crook would approve. I am not saying that a raise is not justified BUT, 200% is nothing more than stealing from the citizens of this State.
It is my request that anyone in district 17 interested in helping to start a recall petition to rid ourselves of these self-serving politicos I will take on this fight. I can be reached at jwhitehead2@charter.net. With our roads, education and rising cost of gasoline this money could be put to better use. In addition to this recall of Senator Marioneaux, it is imperative that each of you contact Governor Jindal and request him to VETO this ludicrous bill as soon as possible. These are our tax dollars and should be spent as we desire and not as the politicians and special interest want. These few millions would be better served given back to the taxpayers.
If we the citizens stand by and do nothing then we deserve the politics as usual. NOW is the time to send a message that this disregard of the citizens’ wishes will not be tolerated.
