These protests need to continue

(Guestpost from Drew)
Lately, I’ve seen a bunch of cool YouTube clips demonstrating this phenomenon:

Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety — welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.

On the eve of the August recess, members are reporting meetings that have gone terribly awry, marked by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior. In at least one case, a congressman has stopped holding town hall events because the situation has spiraled so far out of control. — H/T Pirate’s Cove

I think this trend is outstanding! If the socialists are going to drive the country off a cliff, they should at least have to deal with us kicking and screaming the whole way. If you live in a district with a Democrat, then go, and do likewise!

(Here are a couple examples.)

The congressmen in my immediate area are Republican (and generally conservative), but I’ve already brought up the idea to my friends of driving to an adjacent district and raising havoc. Hopefully I’ll get the chance, because I think that would be fun.

I personally am getting optimistic about the entire political landscape. The situation reminds me of ’06, when the idiot Republicans tried to give amnesty to all the illegal aliens until the public finally shut the proposal down. I know the socialized healthcare plan really set Bill Clinton back in his first couple years of office — but the country was smarter back then. Anyway, it’s not over ’til it’s over. Things could go badly, and fast.

Regardless, let’s have fun and get rowdy if we can!
