We're Expecting! It's a… Building!!

Several months ago I posted A Funeral for a Church, describing a worship service that was in effect a funeral for our recently demolished church building. Yesterday, our church body effectively announced the pregnancy when we broke ground for the new facilities:

It’s going to be a long pregnancy – construction is expected to take 15 months to complete. So we have that long to wait, and dream, and work. But when we have the first service – when the “baby” is finally born – I can only imagine the rejoicing.

Congratulations on the groundbreaking. I went to the church web site and took a look around. Your church has one of the better doctrinal statements I have read for a congregation, even to my more or less liberal eyes :-) .

Many blessings to you over the months of building!

Thanks! I feel *very* blessed to be part of this church. Believe it or not, I’ve come a very long way in my faith… :-) still so far to go, but looking back, I see so much progress in the last six years that I’m amazed at what God has been doing in my life since I started attending.
