Compass Direct News reports that Muslims have apologized for attacking a church in the Punjab region last month, although they offered neither restitution for the damage to the church building nor compensation to the seven Christians who were wounded during the assault. Faizur Rehman, one of the forty-one Muslims confessing to the attack in a notarized affidavit dated June 28, 2007, stated, “We are sorry and promise that this will not happen in the future.” Attorney Khalil Tahir Sindhu, the legal representative for the Christian community, informed CND, “The Christian people have forgiven them.”
