What kind of imbecile does that make me?

homepage crossA quote from NewsBusters article caught my attention.

George W. Bush is the most powerful man alive. He is a class A imbecile. He is far less intelligent than the average Christian. But like most of the others, he believes Jesus died for his sins. That idea is so perverse and devoid of logic it should shock the conscience. Instead, it gets him elected, and earns him the reverence of a great percentage of America. America! The most advanced country in the world — run by a bunch of villagers who still believe Santa Claus is going to save them.

If Bush is a “Class A” imbecile, yet is less intelligent than the average Christian, I wonder how I rank.  (Especially given that I’m a college dropout, not a Yale grad/Harvard MBA who earned better grades than John Kerry did.)  Usually in letter based grading scales, A is the best, and the lower the letter, the worse your grade.  But on the Christian Imbecility scale, is it the inverse?  Is it like bra size, where A is the lowest, and the higher the letter, the greater the imbecile?  Does anybody know where can I find the scale?  ;-)

Oh, and here’s the writer’s take on Jesus, evidently our Imbecile-In-Chief:

Jesus is said to have said on the cross, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Because Jesus was insane and the God he thought would rescue him did not exist. And he died on that cross like a fool. He fancied himself the son of God and he could barely convince twelve men to follow him at a time when the world was full of superstition.

Wow. I am not a big George Bush fan. Didn’t think much of some of the stuff he has said regarding faith. But whoever wrote that trash should be the King of Stupidity/Ignorance/Arrogrance. Class A Idiot would work too.

I wasn’t impressed with that interview either. It’s abundantly clear that we do NOT all worship the same God, for example. In the Quran, it clearly says that Allah neither begets, nor is he begotten, for example – a clear repudiation of Jesus’ deity. When Christians water down the gospel in order to create a false unity with other faiths – aside from the fact that it’s dishonest, or at best, ignorant – it does not help them. They don’t need “unity” – they need the gospel.
