A woman who lied about being raped in order because her friends were mad at her for ditching them has now been indicted. She actually maintained the lie through the trial and for four years of jail time for her innocent “assailant.” Which is absolutely monstrous. But a point in her favor: she actually came forward -eventually – on her own because she could not bear the guilt of what she’d done. Nothing’s going to give the guy back his four years, or undo crimes committed against him in prison – like if he’s been raped himself, now – but I’m glad she was indicted, and I hope she spends some time in jail.

In TN, I think aggravated perjury is only punishable by 2-4 years for class 1 offenders. And the statute of limitations is four years.
