On Tim Tebow’s facepainted bible verses -
“He doesn’t do it for show or for people to talk about,” sophomore offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey said. “It’s just a way to show what he’s about, what he believes, how he lives. It’s really that simple.”
Michele quite rightly objects, “Of course he does it for people to talk about! The goal is for people to look up the verse.”
Yes, exactly. I don’t think that sort of thing is particularly effective, but he’s certainly entitled to do it, and you never know – someone might keep reading and be moved by it. Question the efficacy of his methods, sure, but you’d have to be a special kind of stupid to deny his motivation.
Considering some of the conversion experiences I’ve read, I’d have to say that the odds are pretty good that someone is going to get there via Tebow’s facepaint.
